Word Harvest: the Magic of Memoir
Sunday, October 15th 1:30-3:30pm
As the season turns and we move into the darkness and introspection of winter, what do you want to harvest from this season, this year, or your life? Memoir means memory. In this workshop, we’ll explore the magic that arises when we use the portal of memory (personal memory, ancestral memory, collective memory…) to connect with ourselves and our writing. The class will focus on guided exercises and prompts to help you dig into your memories in a fresh, insightful, and compassionate way. You’ll also have the opportunity to read your writing aloud in a supportive environment.
If you’re attending the full Practical Magic weekend, this workshop will also serve as a closing circle. It will be a space to harvest learnings from the weekend and set intentions for what you’d like to carry forward. You’ll leave the workshop with a greater understanding of how to harness inspiration from your memories, the beginnings of new pieces, and tools to strengthen your writing practice. Writers of all levels of experience are welcome!
